I was recently asked by Aussiehomes.com to chat to them about Interior Decorating. I was thrilled as this is my favourite site for searching real estate for sale. So to read my interview about decorating trends and mistakes click on the Aussiehome blog (http://ow.ly/1pMXs).
Let me know if you can add any trends or mistakes to the list.:)

Wallpaper is becoming very popular for feature walls. You can even have your own pictures made into wallpaper.
Can I be cheeky and say 'I agree' ? :)

I love the idea of wallpaper, there are just so many I like though hard to choose.
I have also been talking with clients about tiling walls(there are so many beautifful new tiles around), there is alot of exterior tiling happening at the moment but I am currently looking at putting tiles on the entrance wall as a feature when you walk in. One carfully drilled hook will hold alot of different items so hanging something like a mirror will be fine after the fact..........
The other thing I have found is mixing lots of different textures and patterns.
For example mixing florals and stripes, wood and plastic or leather and metal.
Mistakes are a very subjective judgement so I have seen what I would think are mistakes but they include things like mixing the wrong colours together in one room, you can really make so many things work if you have enough conviction.:D

There were some internal feature walls in 3D tiles featured at the International Tile Expo in October. I can't find any photos on the internet to show you but they stunning. What kind of tiles are you going to use Elements?

I have seen a few of the 3d ones used around Alfrescos and pool areas. I agree they look beautiful, actually come to think of it as another trend there is alot of laser cut metal sheets coming through also.
These are a few of the tiles we have been looking at...

Or this one as a feature through a plain co-ordinating tile.
