This drawer system is a nifty way to not only increase the storage in your kitchen drawers but to make everything more accessible:)

The Hafele Nova Pro Internal drawer system allows you to have a second drawer above the standard bottom drawer. You don't actually see the top drawer until the drawer is opened. If you wish to use an item from the top drawer you then pull that drawer out after opening the main drawer. The top internal drawer is a maximum height of 90mm so is for more shallow items. To use in an existing kitchen a cabinetmaker would use your original drawer front and then use this drawer system from Hafele. They also have a similar system for cutlery drawers
What do you think? I showed this to a client yesterday and she was very impressed.:)

I like this, Julie-Ann :)
My client uses these in the kitchens and bathroom cupboards he makes. They use the Blum brand though but they look similar.

Blum is a great brand as well. I love how much is on the market these days to help us to make our kitchens work better.
Lorraine do you have any deep drawers in your kitchen? Or is your cutlery drawer overflowing? Do you have corner cabinets that are impossible to get into? All easily solved by a cabinetmaker- you won't even need a designer for those basic changes.:)
Where is the rubbish bin placed now?

No deep drawers, second drawer maybe overflowing a bit. One corner cabinet. Not sure what could be done with the kitchen, we bought it as is five years ago. It is a Simonds Home, they came to Mildura to build. They are located in Geelong Vic, they closed their local office down maybe just over 12 months ago, as they felt they were not getting enough homes built. Too many builders in town now.
As for my rubbish bin, it is placed near our wine rack, it looks okay, BUT in saying that when you see it in a photo it looks FERAL!!!!!!

Lorraine would you get your bin built into your cabinet? You can get nifty ones where you just touch the bin cupboard (elbow is fine!) and it is on a motor and will open the cupboard to reveal the bin.

Rachel, I think the bin we have is too big for going into a cabinet, that is what I would love though. We have a stainless steel auto bin which is way too big for a cabinet.

Hi Lorraine
You actually buy all sorts of bins that go into a cabinet, here (http://www.hafelehome.com.au/displayProducts.aspx?level1=0&level2=6&level3=3&group=Kitchen%20and%20Storage&subGroup1=Waste%20Management&productID=Waste%20Bins%20for%20Behind%20Hinged%20D oors) are some that Hafele sell.
If you can't fit it behind a hinged door could it go under the sink?
I found this bin (http://www.maxisale.com.au/undersink-rubbish-bin.html#getprice&utm_source=getprice&utm_medium=cpc). Click on "enlarge images" and you can see how it fits under the sink.
With the corner cupboard could you install a lazy susan like this.

What do you think?

Wow who ever thought that looking at bins could be so fun?
The kitchen draw ideas are great too.

Julie-Ann I love both ideas, thank you. May have to do some measuring for the bin, not sure how it would go under my sink as it seems such a small area. Lazy Susan looks good too. Can you pweety please come to my house and sort it out............lol!!!! :)

I received both the photos. What are you going on about woman- apart from the bin the kitchen is lovely:D. The tiles and the cupboards are lovely. I adore the dining room light fitting- so funky:D. And the clock is gorgeous.
As with the family room start a thread under the Home Decorating Forum and tell me what exactly are you unhappy with. It looks pretty good to me.
Now with the bin- I can't see where the dishwasher is. Is there an empty cupboard to the left of the sink? Is there a pantry next to the fridge?
Do you want to sacrifice a lower shelf of a cupboard?
I will wait for your answers.

Thanks for that Julie-Ann, why do I think it looks horrible though? Thank you for the comments about my light fitting and the clock.
Not sure abouot starting a new thread. I think there may be another photo of the familyn room I will try and find that to send to you.
The dishwasher is near the sink . No empty cupboards at all. Yes pantry next to the fridge, no where to put the bin in there either as we have a 11 litre water bottle sitting on a timber stand in the pantry. I know I'm being difficult. Sorry. I could sacrifice a lower shelf of a cupboard.

With the bin if you are able to sacrifice a bottom shelf the easiest thing for you would be to call a local cabinetmaker. Normally I would say visit Hafele's showroom but of course there isn't one in Mildura.
But a cabinetmaker will have access to all the bins that fit into a cupboard and he will know the measurements of them and if they will fit. It shouldn't be expensive and then the wine cabinet can be the feature and not the bin.
The only negative with these bins is that they hold only half the rubbish that your large bin does. But that just makes you empty it more regularly which is not such a terrible thing.

Okay I'm not buggng you anymore. That's it for the pics of my horrible home. :D

See what happens when you live in a country town, cannot get anything at all. Pretty useless.
Hmm I will see what I can come up with. I know the bin is not ideal where it is, there is no room in the laundry either with it being a small space.
Doesn't bother me with the bin being small as I'm normally the one who puts rubbish out anyway. We have two large bins at the side of the house one for recycling, the other for rubbish, and would you believe EVERY week, hubby says to me one bin or two to go out. :D

Kitchen bins and Kitchen Storage...
Two very "large" topics and it may sound silly but, two of the most important!
My kitchen bin is attached (not for real - just the photo! haha) - Its a Halefe bin - Twin bin - one for recycling and one for rubbish.... It is built into a 450mm wide cabinet and it works an absolute charm - i wouldnt have my bin any other way! It also is the upgraded soft close version and so i am not able to get ****ed at my hubby and slam the bin drawer! :(
Everyone i ever design kitchens for is different though -
Some people like small bins....Usual reason - they dont like the smell that a larger bin can get, quite easily, from not emptying it as often. and they either take the bin out themselves everyday or demand thier husbands do it!
Some people, like myself, like a large bin... Usually because we have alot of rubbish and ourselves and our husbands are lazy and dont take the bin out that often! - therefore we like a big bin - closed off in a cabinet of its own and we dont have to see it or smell it that often!
Some people - they dont even THINK about a bin and therefore, sometimes, it ends up in the kitchen floor, in their way, constantly annoying them and stinking out their kitchen - and home....:D
In a country town it can definitely be a difficult, but there are options for you.
I havent seen your kitchen and what kind of space you have to put a bin... but the standard bin we usta put in a kitchen was the Kimberley bin - http://www.lincolnsentry.com.au/Product.aspx?id=659
KRB06 - 2 x 16 litre
KRB06 - 2 x 16 litre
* concealed twin-bin separation system
* fits easily into standard left or right hand opening cupboard - top or bottom mounting
* unique stackable construction means twin units capable of fitting within cupboard
* closed position of lid results in minimal air flow reducing odours
* smooth running ball race runners for effortless sliding
One of these should fit into your sink cabinet quite easily - not very big but at least its a bin and concealed in your cabinet and its a pullout...
You should be able to order one and install yourself - not hard at all.
If you should like any further info - just email me.:)

Thank you for the information provided, I llike the idea of having a concealed bin in the cupboard, I'm not really too sure if one of these would fit into my cupboard or not.
I'm normally the one who puts all rubbish out anyway. ( take it to the biiger bins ouotside to be picked up once a week ). :)

I love Hafele and spent a good amount of time int heir showroom when I renovated our previous home - however they were EXXY! We bought the under-sink bin where the lid closes onto itself when you close the cupboard, however, after we installed the dishwasher etc, there was no room for it !! I tried to flog it at work and to friends for years, but it was too big ( but their smaller size was so tiny!! ). I was willing to part with as little as $50 to be rid of it. Then eBay started up ( lol, i'm so old school ) and I listed it, and bidding got so frantic I made back the buying price .. which was close to um .. $300 - for a bin, I know - I must have been crazy! ), but it goes to show there is a market for overpriced bins !! :p
