Ok so, we bought this house 3 years ago.

So far, we have basically gutted the whole house, all while having twins then another baby. LOL!

So, when I was 28 weeks pregnant with the twins we pulled up all the tiles through the hallway, all the carpet and the awful lino everywhere. We ripped all the wallpaper (psychedelic stuff) in master bedroom.

We left the kitchen bathroom and laundry for a few years.

What colour have you painted on the walls?

Its called Dulux Self Dustruct.

Its a very unusual colour, looks sort of egg plant-ey in the evening, and a light beige in the day.

So, we have painted all the walls, changed all but one blind to white venetians, changed all the flooring (used laminate - but would love to pull them up and stain the wood since its Hardwood underneath), Renovated the bathroom & laundry.

Planted basically a whole new front garden!

Wow it looks great. You have done so much. How long has it taken to get all that done?
You wouldn't even recognize it from the before photos:D

It took a week to do the bathroom, a year (lol) to do the laundry, a week to do the kitchen, a weekend to do the planting of the front yard, a weekend to paint all the fences (THAT was hard work), a weekend to do all the painting in the lounge, hallway and kitchen/dining room. All over the past three years, as money became available :)

We have so much more to do though, getting a blind for the dining room, rendering the front of the house, building a horizontal merbau fence out the front.

Getting a 32"plasma for our room....what else LOL!

I am not surprised it has taken that long. You have done so much.
Did you paint the fences with a brush, roller or sprayer? I have painted way too many fences as well- so I understand what a pain it is:(.
I'm surprised your DH hasn't made the TV a priority- I know mine would:D.

We have a 42" plasma in the lounge that he plays all his games on so hes satisfied with that for now lol.

We used a paint brush for the front fences, and realised how terribly hard it was and how long it would take us to do the yard, so we got a spray and its SO much easier and quicker. Very worth it!

Well you are a quicker learner than me:D.
I used a brush on 2 houses and then finally hired a sprayer the next time. Definitely worth it. Another tip for fences is to hose them down first and paint them when they are just damp. It stops the paint from being soaked up too much and you still get good coverage with 2 coats.

Thats a fantastic idea. I remember the paint being soaked into it pretty much instantly as you spray it on. Thanks for that!!

I put up some more mirrors today, and got a new car to go nicely in the driveway haha!!

Now the plan is, render the front of the house. Build the fence and/or put a merbau deck out the back with french doors leading out to them.

Anyone winning tatslotto?? haha...Maybe I should go back to work. Grrr

And CHEAP! $30 from Kmart lol!

It just adds a bit more depth to the room and that wall looked really bare. I dont know if you can see but we have white venetians to the right of the fireplace so it all matches really well.
