Hi All

I'm Liz and...I am a Serial Decorator!!!

I saw the article for this forum in New Homes section of The West Australian on Saturday and thought I'd pop in for a look...Brilliant Forum but...just one major flaw....

...every time I visit (with the intention of introducing myself) I get so caught up in reading all the posts / looking at everyone else's homes that I run out of time !! Lol...

So this time, I've headed straight to this thread...before I get waylaid yet again. DH thinks the best thing about this forum is that I havn't bought a SINGLE decorating magazine this week!!! OMG...maybe I'm cured?

A little about me? About to start on our fourth build (I know, I know) but it's like childbirth...you forget the pain and do it all over again (and again and again)...well, some of us do?

Currently have our home on the market and it's under (subject) offer in just three weeks...with another 'subject' on the table if that one falls over. Not bad in this current climate...but we're still marketing it in the hope of it turning 'unconditional'. Have had "Home Opens" every weekend since the week before Easter (apart from Easter and Mother's Day) and have had at least two mid week inspections every week as well!

Our agent says the more traffic we have through, the more chance we have of selling...and whilst I have to agree, it doesn't do much for the old stress levels.

Gotta go now...have to start doing the 'staging' thing soon...agent just rang to say 'another prospect coming through this arvo'. Arghhhh!

Just wondering whether changing from vanilla candles to raspberry will help? ;)

Cheers,

DQ

Hi Liz and welcome :)

Lucky you to have an Under Offer on the table. In Victoria (well where I am anyways) if it is under offer no one else can be shown though, it's funny how all the states do things differently.

Good luck and hope the contract comes through quickly for you.

Hi DQ it's lovely to meet you. I hope you have fun chatting with us here:).
I love that we have saved you money in such a short time:D. Hopefully we can give you so many creative ideas you won't be needing to visit the newsagency so often. You might also like to check out the blogs we feature here every week. They have some wonderful ideas and eye candy to drool over.:love it:

Congratulations on getting an offer on your house:thumbs up:. That really is something in this market. When it sells what are you planning - to build again? Why not pop the link the real estate agent has for your house on here? We would love to see it and you never know if a potential buyer is reading this post:)

Thanks ladies for all the warm welcomes...:)

Well...raspberry candles didn't work...tho prospective buyer spent so much time looking, I thought she had settled in for the day...lol

In answer to your queries...Yep I am a little nuts (tho not really all that brave)

I'm starting on the first of what will be at least 5 builds in the next 4 years !!!

It's all part of my "5 year plan"...Build / Sell, Build / Sell...rinse repeat etc etc. I 've done it before and made a good profit along the way...so as the saying goes...if you find something you love doing...you'll never have to work again for the rest of your life?

And I guess 'building' is my 'thing' ...:love it:

This is my 'current' baby that I am trying to send off into the big wide world...

Now...off to the other threads for some more 'inspiration' ;)

Hey Liz, welcome........glad to have you aboard. I also have a real estate problem we are up to our 12th house in 11 years:eek: and 3 of those were builds. I absolutely get it and understand.
We have actually just sold the 3rd build and we are moving to stay ready for the next perfect block that comes up. We are actually hoping this one will be our last but all our friends don't see it:D
Your link is actually to the stats.....I had to laugh as I actually looked at the stats every hour for the 1st week the property was on the market......
Can I just say gorgeous and OMG I hope you are getting a removalist because you have what looks like very heavy furniture;)
We used to move ourselves but not for the last 3.
Good luck for home opens over the weekend.....

Hi Liz and a big welcome!! You sound very energetic and full of passion for what you do!

Try a small dab of spearmint oil rubbed around the inside of each door frame in the house. A little tip I picked up years ago from somewhere for selling a house. :) (Although be careful of your painted finishes).

Look forward to chatting with you.

Linda. :)

Thanks Elements...

Great to know I'm not alone in my 'addiction'...;)...although I'm only up to home number 8...or is it 9? lol (incl the 3 builds)

I've already had a look at your last one...love, love, love it :love it:

...oh, and finally got the right link, ha ha!

I've also used 'professionals' for the last three moves (after DH knocked over a brick letterbox with the Hire Truck ) during a move before that...and as the previous build was a double storey, he flatly refused to DIY that one !!

Now that I've talked him into agreeing for me to go back into the 'trade' I also get the added bonus of spending as much time as I like on websites such as this and calling it 'research'...:thumbs up:

I'll start a new thread soon on my next 'project' but in the meantime...lots more 'Home Opens' to do...:(

Thanks for the tip, Linda...:thumbs up:

I already do this with vanilla oil...as well as giving all the cupboard insides a quick wipe over with vanilla fridge spray...

It's not overpowering...just a nice subtle smell. Agents always ask what it is as they can't quite place it, but say everyone loves it.

I just tell them it's my candles ;)

I must try the vanilla oil next time!

I LOVE my vanilla fridge spray... multitude of uses, not just the fridge. :)
