Has anyone had them? Know of someone with them? I am dying to have this type of flooring in the next house I build. I am sure it's not everyone's taste, but I love the look of them.

What do you think about them?

Hi Katrina
I have never had them in a home but know people who do. We recently went to Broome and I was talking to a lady who was building about decorating (I know your so surprised). And one of the things that is becoming very popular up there is Polished Concrete floors. Everybody's house has tiles or sometime floorboards because of the red dust. You can't keep it out of the house. The tilers also use dark grout as the light grout would turn red in no time. So some of the new homes were experimenting with polished concrete floors. I thought it was a brilliant idea - practical and stylish.
They would have to be sealed very well to prevent stains and oils soaking in.

I had polished floors in my last home, and so do two of my friends. We all agree they are the best type of floors. So easy to clean, always look amazing, can't see all the marks and smudges. and if you want to make it a bit softer - throw some rugs down. I heart polished concrete.
