I am often curious about what people collect and what does it say about us?

I collect photos. I have photos of our families all over the house. I enjoy looking at them everyday. Though I must admit the dusting of them is annoying.

What do you or members of your family collect?

Ooh! interesting question.

I collect crystals. I love them all and at the moment I have them displayed on a table in our upstairs hallway. The large ones sit right on the table, crystal ***** are on little pewter stands and the smaller ones are in a lovely glass bowl that sits on a pewter stand.

I have a tiny collection of pink venetian perfume bottles. But not long ago I discovered I collect cushions & throw rugs (you can read about this revelation here (http://www.decoratingforum.com.au/showthread.php/what-do-you-95.html?t=95&highlight=hoard)):o.

My DH is a big collector of model cars. I call them dinky cars:D. He has a room of his own to store and display them. But they are like a virus spreading rapidly throughout all the storage in the house:mad:.And I am not exaggerating.

I love the crystals and the eyeshadow idea.

I collected antique teapots, till I remodeled the kitchen/dining room. Now they don't go with the decor, I still love them, but they aren't out on display now.

I like the idea Julie-Ann of a room just for the collectibles - I'm going to try that when they all move out I think:rolleyes:

Oh too funny! The crystals I was talking about that got 'bleeped out' are 'spheres' to put it in another way that won't get censored. LOL

Julie-Ann, I LOVE the idea of a collection of pink venetian perfume bottles, how utterly gorgeous.

Hehehehe, I love make-up too but I don't want to think about how much I have in my collection. I'm desperately trying to keep myself from buying more before I run out of what I currently have multiples of.

Antique teapots are my forte also - in fact I now have the nickname "the eBay Queen". Wish I could buy an automatic duster!

Hi shewhomustbeobeyed (I love that user name:D) I gave him the study as a display room because orange & red little toy cars all over my house was not appealing. I do allow one little white one on the bookcase - I know I am so generous:D.
If the teapots don't go anymore you could sell them to Pink prisma and start a collection that suits your home???

Hmmm, tricky it feels like agers since I really collected anythink, I remember when me and hubby traveled around Oz for nearly 3yrs I would collected stubbie holders tho they have slowly been chucked or given away, and as a little girl I had the Biggest stamp collection that was passed down the family which had been added to over each generation, But its in a box up in mum & dads addic for years and years in box label Jasmines treasures. :)

But I do seem to have huge cooking books collection I just love the some of the great cooking books especially jamie oliver, So maybe thats my little collection.

Hi, I collect glass Jelly Moulds or any jelly moulds really and jugs and junk. I used to visit loads of car boot fayres back in the Uk and the old glass jelly moulds really appealed to me. I have them safely stored in a box somewhere, as i dont really have a place to display them as yet.

I have a friend who collects roosters (not the real ones!) and her kitchen is full of them. I don't collect anything! Used to collect teaspoons he he. My mum collected 50c pieces and put them on the bar with a piece of glass over it! very cool in the 80's... I like the perfume bottles - I could collect those.
