Hi all,
Just after some suggestions about how to store home decorating magazines?
At the moment, I have a collection of about 200 magazines which are living in my coffee table at the moment. However, it is starting to warp and no longer can house them.

Where can I put them all? Or more importantly, how can I store them without having to get rid of them? I want to keep them for now but no room to put them?

Any ideas on a nice way to store them all neatly?

Dh and I have magazines that we subscribe to. I get magazine holders from officeworks that hold about 20 magazines each. Another good store is www.kikki-k.com It's a stationary store with other ideas.
Below are the pictures of the folders that we use.

Hi Thetis,

I had this same problem and only just took care of it over the Christmas break.

About half the mags I had were 4 years or more old and I was only keeping them for a couple pages for inspiration or work. With those I photographed the images [our camera is better quality than the scanner!] and filed them on the PC. Then gave all those mags to some friends who are planning a reno.

The others I made one neat stack next to our chest of drawers and for the remainder I bought a LERBERG shelving unit from Ikea which is surprisingly strong when fixed to a wall. The only other mags are the ones I'm currently reading that are in the lounge room one one specific side table.

I think a few neat stacks around the house is fine, under small tables or other furniture, windows, next to chairs as a side table etc. If you're buying furniture specifically for storing your mags be sure its really strong!

Let us know what you end up doing.

Jenny.

Hi, I came across this picture earlier this week, have you ever thought of turning your mag collection into a piece of furniture like a small coffee table.
Have alook at this pic

Hope you get some great ideas.:)

Too funny Susie - what if you want to get one out from the bottom.
Crash:eek:

I feel like I am drowning in magazines. I have some magazine holders in my office cupboards and more on my bookcase (which is Expedit from Ikea), a pileof magazines on a chair in the bedroom, a pile on top of my desk and 3 piles on the ottoman in the family room:D.
I have tried scanning some but it takes sooo long. There are some that I just can't throw away like my Romantic Homes collection and Verandah. Then there are work ones about kitchens and bathrooms. I do cull eventually the contemporary style ones because they do date.
We could get those boxes that slide under your bed and fill them up with them but apparently it's bad feng shui.

Great question. I hope we get a magical answer:D

Ikea have magazine holders really cheap (i buy the white cardboard ones for mass storage. I have every copy of Real Living .. and storing them is beginning to be a problem. I wall space allows a bookshelf or expedit (more ikea. I know. But I like it). are great and hold volumes.

I've been researching this subject. I think there are many of us in this predicament. Here are some unusual ideas I found.

Or my favourite. You could have 1 on each door in the house. Imagine how many magazines you could store

With this one the magazines can become a feature of your room.

Imagine if we used all these ideas we wouldn't have a problem anymore and we could buy even more magazines
