Decorating color Dark Brown with Grey?

I wanted to get people's opinions on mixing dark brown with light grey. I saw the two colors combined with cream on a pillow and thought it looked nice. However, I never would have thought to mix brown and grey together. I am considering the three color combinations for my dining room. I have a washed oak dining room table and light grey on the walls. Any suggestions on how to make this work with dark brown? Or should I consider another color to combine with the grey?

An unusual but stunning combination. and a great way to introduce grey(which is very in at the moment) into our homes but using the brown that most us already have.

This combination could look very dark but there are ways to lighten it up.
Although sometimes I find dark rooms very sultry.
But to lighten it up use cream, glass tables perhaps and lots of silver in your accessories.

Just how you mix the combination would depend on what you already have in these colours. What colour is your couch or existing curtaining?

Maybe some cream coloured flowers in a silver vase.

I was thinking of having a light blue with a light brown (bone colour). I've seen this in magazines so I think it should be ok and similar to you dark brown and grey, just lighter perhaps

Light blue, beige or bone and cream will look gorgeous. Very calm. Send us pictures when you finish.:)
