Kleenex Viva Shower Wipes - Clever cleaning cuts through soap s***.. on glass and tiles.

I picked up a pack of these wipes on Monday..because I am convinced new cleaners will make my life easier.. LOL

They weren't overly expensive.. About $5

SO GOOD! I was surprised. I find most detergents stink, eat your hands! (so you end up wearing gloves.. ) or they are ineffective.. and so on.. but these were so simple. Open the packet.. take out one.. reseal.. and wipe.. it did a great job.. and was simple. NO odor (none!!) and no harsh chemical.. no gloves and i dont think it was any tougher than soap.. I also didnt have to use much water to rinse it away .. no bubbling and rinsing etc.. no wait time.. just wipe, rinse.. chuck.

I figure with no gloves, no chux/sponge/wipe etc..it is a saving for the environment, cost effective and time saving for me. I could clean the shower every day for a month.. for $5... i wouldnt bother.. twice a week will be enough.. LOL.. so 15 weeks for $5!

They have another product i love too..

The Viva Stainless Steel Wipes. I use these to wipe over the SS dishwasher and oven front (we have a stand alone SS oven and it is a pain to clean without these). I find these are also excellent for cleaning the rangehood..which is a big oversized wall feature kind of one.. Just a quick wipe.. leaves no marks, or lines etc.. and it removes all the grease easily.. love it!

You get 20 in a pack.. I use 1 - 2 a week.. rangehood needs doing twice a week but the others just once a fortnight

i would like the bathroom wipes to have the same opening as the stainless steel ones.. but you cant win them all. I have tried the mirror/glass wipes but found whilst they were excellent it was a bit convoluted.

I think that these sound great and if they work for you then even better. I have only ever used these (think it was the floor ones) when I have seen them on sale (scrooge that I am)

Actually I tend to be not so into cleaning as I used to be (prob bc this is an old never looks clean as hard as I try - and not mine house).....

What I use is an old stocking/panty hose (donated by mum by the bag load) and some bi-carb in a shaker tin with some vinegar and bi-carb with lavender in it (in spray bottle). The pantyhose is a great scourer and the bi-carb and vinegar cuts through the s***. Then I dry with microfibre cloth and chuck the panyhose and microfibre in the wash... Sometimes I use earth choice bath & shower cleaner with the stocking too as sometimes the vinegar smell gets to me even with the lavender. I started going all "green" when Mr 5 became sick wanted to control his environment and eliminate any toxins that could make the epilepsy worse...and couldn't see an obvious difference but I am sure it can't be doing harm....

More concerned about the dampness in this house as with all Melb's rain and this house being approx 100 years old it can't be good.... and still need to check my washing machine for mould (hubby is always at "Rome" these days)...

They look great Lanne:love it:. I wouldn't use them on the glass because any chemicals can give your glass - glass cancer- when it gets a white film on it that won't come off.
But they look great for the tiles. How did you find them on any mould?
I have used the similar wipes for cleaning the basins and the laminex benches. But they are in a white packet. They are brilliant.
But my favourite are the wipes for cleaning the loo. They do a great job and are flushable:clapping:.

Personally I prefer to stay away from chemicals of any type due to the allergy sufferers in this house, we only use Enjo cloths and they are brilliant. Whilst initially they can seem expensive over a period of five years they are so cheap and I have never found a better glass/mirror/stainless cleaner. Last person to use the shower dries it off with a bathroom 'miracle' and no mould has ever appeared.

I'm going to try these wipes Lanne. Thanks for that!!!

Julie-Ann, those wipes for cleaning the loo sound great. Do you put it over the toilet brush or do you have to get in there with your hand?

Hi Eli

What to you use to get rid of germs in the kitchen?

Daily the benchtops are wiped with hot water and dishwashing liquid, wood chopping boards cleaned the same way but on a weekly basis the cleaner uses Enjo's marble paste and the kitchen mitt. All surfaces that are wet get wiped dry with a 'miracle' cloth so that dust particles aren't attracted to them. Even floors and toilets are cleaned with enjo. I've been using Enjo for more than ten years and would never go back, DH wouldn't let me either. If I need to clean drains I will use Draino but only if he is away on a fishing trip, his sinus's always let him know if someone has used something with chemicals. Touch wood no one has got sick as yet so I would assume the germs are under control :) not sure how it works but it appears to.

I don't know about mould as there wasn't any... But I will be sure and report back..

I like the pantyhose and bicarbonate/vinegar routine for the oven... And it was great in the shower but really ... Kinda lazy but it is a bit of an effort. I liked that this was quick ..no mess and easy.

I use window surface and glass for most other things..

I like the idea of being all Shannon Lush (pantyhouse, vinegar & bicarb) but I do find the smell of vinegar in bathroom reminds me of wee.

Mind you I wish there was a phone app which had all Shannon Lush's stain removal remedies as they are usually great.

I actually don't use Windex on shower screens Thisisme but do on all other glass and never had a problem. So I guess it wouldn't effect the shower screen either. I just am a little paranoid about glass cancer as I see it so often in older bathrooms:(.
The toilet wipes are just for wiping the the outside and the seat of the toilet. You still have to use toilet cleaning liquid and a toilet brush for the inside of the bowl.
