Ok so my wonderful painter has done it again! Current house it was paint on the wool carpet, new house she came armed with plastic dropsheets in addition to canvas, alas the carpet is fine but I have paint on some of my swags and tails. Does anyone know if there is a way to get rid of it. We intend to replace all the drapes in time but green with a couple of big white spots is not my ideal look.

PS needless to say after seeing the paint the curtains were all removed that night so that the wall painting today would be 'cleaner'.

Is it acrylic or oil paint?

Thankfully acrylic

Shannon Lush suggests for paint stains on fabric soak the stain in methylated spirits. Then soak 2 cotton balls in methylated spirits and place them on either side of the fabric. Rub the top cotton ball in a circular motion, working from the outside to the inside of the stain. Then wash the fabric as normal.
But because they are swags and tails I would do nothing and take them to the drycleaners. I think that would be the best way to get it out.

Thanks for that, might wait it out (it is only the guest bedroom that is the worst) and get some new ones for that room first.

You could try washing them the Shannon Lush way. Try the guest room first.

Sounds like things aren't going as smoothly as you want.....grr:eek:...hopefully once these hiccups pass it will be transformed into your ideal home, sooner rather than later......
