Did you receive a copy of Ikea's brochure on Storage Solutions in the mail?
I was so impressed I wanted to make sure all our members checked them out.
Apart from the beautiful storage items they have for sale at Ikea it was their entertainment units that really impressed me. I had noticed about 3 years ago in Europe instead of the low tv cabinets we favour in Australia, there was a trend back to high wall units. Now don't say yuk just yet:D. They also often have sliding doors so you could hide the tv when guests came over. I thought they were very stylish and I hadn't noticed anything similar here at the time.
But Ikea are getting a reputation as a very innovative company that is offering beautifully designed products at their reasonable prices. And no I don't work for them even if it might sound like I do:D.
I have attached some of my favourite pieces that were in their catalogue. The red unit in the catalogue I thought was even better. But to see more go the Ikea (http://www.ikea.com/au/en/preindex.html) website to view more.

What do you think?

I love the unit shown in red (but would prefer it in a different colour) I love Ikea, love their storage solutions. My 12yo daughter's entire room is from Ikea and people get shocked everytime I tell them that.

I still prefer the low line units, took me ages to talk my husband into not bringing our old big one into the "new" house. Now I need to get it out of our garage! I love their website, am on it every other day, love the room planning software on the site.

I have saved many photos from other blogs (usually American) that have used Ikea to kit out a craft area. That is one thing on my to-do-list :)

Your daughter is a lucky girl to have such stylish furniture. Ikea got rave reviews for their collection they displayed at the Milan Furniture Fair in 2009. This is THE furniture fair in the design world, so that is a very big deal. Katrina mentioned she doesn't have an Ikea near her- my first reaction was OMG how does she survive:D.
They have some great tables to suit a craft room, and all their storage boxes - oh don't get me started.
Did you see this topic Home office/Studio (http://www.decoratingforum.com.au/showthread.php/home-office-studio-182.html?t=182&highlight=home+office) there was some great ideas there.
Cheers

I will look at that thread soon ;)

There is also a site called Ikea Hacker where people take Ikea furniture and do amazing things with them, some people are very clever and have great ideas.

Poor Katrina :(

Your purchases sound great.
Someone on Twitter suggested if you wanted a divorce take your partner to Ikea on a Sunday (Saturday for Perth as there is no Sunday trading). So if you didn't get divorced as a result of the trip - you did well:D
