Last Friday night my DH and I were sitting on the couch watching Better Homes & Gardens on the television. When all of a sudden something caught his attention. The thing that got him all excited was not me :( – I was lying half dead on the couch with a virus going around. So what was it that got my lovely husband so excited?
Unibond have released a range of DIY Mini Cartridges.
The range includes Kitchen & Bathroom sealant
All Purpose sealant
Gap Filler
Super Nails
These are a mini version of the larger cartridges you buy at the Hardware store. Apparently, if you don’t use the whole cartridge it can go off and you have to throw it away. Obviously a less likely scenario with the mini version. With these mini versions you also only have to press on the nozzle to activate as they are pressurized.
So does this excite you or the DIY person in your life? Or is my lovely husband a little unusual :D.

Oh no it happened again:eek:!
Last night (Friday) my DH & I were enjoying a lovely "how was your day" chat, when all of a sudden I was told to "shhosh for a minute". And there he was again Rob Palmer from Better Homes and Garden on the television. My husband was more interested in how to remove oil stains from the garage floor than me.
I am beginning to think Better Homes and Garden's tv show could be bad for our marriage:(.
Is it only my husband who reacts this way to interesting DIY tips, or are there others suffering too?

So my DH is not the only person excited by Rob Palmer's DIY tips.;)
I couldn't find it on their site but this was the idea of it-
Clean the area with turps
Then make a paste comprised of turpentine and hydrated lime or caustic soda, normally two parts lime to one part turpentine. The paste then needs to cover the oil stain and left overnight to soak up the oil. It is important though to not allow the turpentine part of the paste to evaporate, so cover it with plastic and tape the plastic down. The paste then needs to be scrapped away, and the remnants of the oil washed away with scrubbing the floor with turps and then with soap and water.
It is too hot to try it here this weekend but if you try it let us know how it goes.:)

Sorry Julie.. couldn't help myself!
It sounds great. I don't have any oil stains here (touch wood) but they do appear in the driveway with clients coming and going/couriers etc...and i am always keen to remove them as soon as possible

Hi Lanne
I understand - if it had been an episode of Sarah's House I would be no different.
Have a look at this link (http://www.helium.com/items/1606534-how-to-remove-motor-oil-stains-from-concrete-driveways) he talks about how to remove fresh oil stains. The method I mentioned above was for old stains, which we have thanks to an old car my DH once loved.
Cheers
