I'm not one for entertaining outside very often. I don't like being too hot or too cold and the mozzies love me. This may be a surprise to many of you - but I'm a little fussy:eek::D.
Well here is a solution to one of those problems - the Umbrella Misting Kit. I saw this on BHG last week and thought what a great idea:love it:. Below are a couple of pictures of how it keeps you cool. The 2nd photo seems like they have the pressure a bit too high. It looks like you would get soaked under that:D. You can also get them to work on your patio.

I meant to pick up the BHG to see which brand they recommended but I have been flat out with clients this week. Does anyone know the brand in BHG?

Julie-Ann these are not a new idea.We have been selling them for years, they are foggers. We have them around our patio too.

I had seen them commercially but not such a simple kit for homes Lorraine. Do you use yours often?
So if someone from Mildura is reading this where can they buy one? What's the name of your business?

LOL!!! Yes Julie-Ann, we use them quite a bit in summer, they are so cool. We have even got some down the left side of the house along the fence line. Sent some to my sister in Melbourne too. Our business is Think Water Mildura. ( formerly KreuzControl Irrigation )

They are a great idea! This year is the first I have seen of them on a domestic evel. I have heard of them in the desert in Arizona...
They used to have them in the shearing sheds on Bolaro station.. Wel the Rich Greek &^%$@#$ didn't have them, the contractors put them in...cool the shearers..and the sheep down.
I think Bunnings or Mitre10 have them here

Cath no disrespect to either Bunnings or Mitre 10, BUT the flow rate on theirs is way too high, the one's we sell are much better. I know this due to a customer coming in to buy some from us as he returned his to Bunnings as they were leaking too much and therefore getting wet instead of a fog effect like they are supposed to be. Ours cost $3.90 for one. We also have access to a brand from the States called Arizona Mist, which we used to sell, we decided not to sell them anymore as they cost too much money. They have also been on the domestic market for quite a few years. If we sell out they are usually hard to get back into stock. Believe it or not we also sell them to people so they can keep their birds, dogs, etc cool.
All you need is poly pipe, plus the foggers, and a few other fittings to install them.

Thanks for all that information Lorraine:kiss:. That is really useful. We wouldn't want people getting soaked by these things. I can imagine it would be a great idea for animals:thumbs up:.

that;s funny how they are called Arizona Nist, and I knew someone from Arizona with one in their garden... That could be a bit distressing getting too wet from them! Unless you wanted toolol. I'd love to go someone where they had one..I know where they have one, at the Mall in Albury..no it's not really at the Mall, it's over the fence at the Pub, but the mist goes over the fence. I wonder if they have it there today.Ican imagine lots of folks getting them for their animals,, the pets would think that;s wonderful! Our doggies and cat sit under the window when whe have the A?C on..so they can get a cool breese..they are so funny..I put Clawsy's basket in the carport today, where she is in the spa area, can get a little damp, so she is happy in the catport watching the world go by!
Thanks for the heads up with the misters!

The more expensive ones are called Arizona Mist. The ones we sell are actually called foggers. We did put some Arizona Mist in our "Mall" area years ago as a trial, they eventually came down as the old fogies on council couldn't verify spending money to have extra's installed, never mind about everyone who loved the idea of them. One of our local pubs "THE SANDBAR" has them installed along the fence line, these were installed by a plumber so cost more than the one's we sell.
Julie-Ann with the ones we sell there is no soaking involved, it is just a fine mist. They are very popular over here. So much so that when we sold out one year we received the last 300 from our supplier, we were the only ones in Australia who had them at the time. The 300 didn't last for long. We have also started to sell more over the past few weeks as the weather is warmer. ( NOT TODAY - WET )
