Decorate with pieces you already have.

The best place to start a decorating project is to clear out the clutter. You can often transform the style of a room spectacularly with a few simple changes. Too much clutter in a room is very distracting to the eye and usually doesn’t show your room off to its best.
Place all your knick knacks on a table. Choose those that will suit the style of room you wish to create. It is better to choose just a few to be on display and let them be shown off in your new room. If you put too many in your room it can look overcrowded and your special pieces are less noticeable.
If you have too many favourites, consider swapping them over every few months. This way when your friends come to visit there will be something new to catch their eye.
For those knick knacks that don’t suit your new style but you want to keep, put them in storage for another decorating project!
When arranging your ornaments a few larger pieces will look better than a cluster of small pieces. Group pieces either in matching pairs or in groups of odd numbers. Usually 3 items grouped together works best. If you do have a collection of smaller pieces, such as perfume bottles, by putting them on a silver tray unifies the collection.

yes, its right putting too many decorating pieces in the room will make it overcrowded. Its good to swap them from time to time to make it eye catching to the visitors.
