Hi folks, another novice from Perth here!
Husband and I have finally started our extension on an 80 year old bungalow in which we have no less than 4 wet areas to design amongst other things. Our current challenge is to redesign a bathroom (that is at the moment, still an old kitchen, complete with Metters). There is a hearth in a corner that we are going to brick in so the room will be a slightly odd shape. Anyway, that's a problem for its own thread.

Hopefully I'll pick up some great tips here. It seems there is a wealth of ideas about the boards. I really should be studying, but this is such a satisfying form of procrastination!

Welcome Tammi it's lovely to meet you. I'm from Perth too and our 2nd home was a Californian Bungalow in Kensington. We completely renovated it so I know the journey you are about to undertake. It's worth it in the end as they are such beautiful homes.
What are you studying or meant to be studying lol:D?
Do you have any kids? I have to say renovating is whole lot easier when you are younger and child free.

ROFL, well I'd like to live by that motto, but in answer to a question by Julie-Ann, I have two children aged 3 and 5 so it would be a small disaster if I left everything until tomorrow. :p

I am renovating a 1920s BnT in Bayswater. I adore Kensington Julie-Ann but DH wouldn't come to the party when we bought our first house 12 years ago.

As for study, I'm doing a Grad Cert in Geographic Information Systems at Curtin. I'm actually a geologist but looking for a slight change in direction post-kids.

I have exams in 2 weeks so I'll probably be back in earnest asking 1001 questions in December.

Well at least you are in the right industry being based in Perth. The mining industry is very healthy at the moment.:thumbs up:
Well we will try not to distract you too much for 2 weeks. We will keep it all at a whisper so as not to disturb you. My son is doing Yr12 exams at the moment so I am used to keeping the house quiet & boring so there is nothing to distract him. Good luck in the exams - sending positive energy across the river:D
