When is it the right time to take down the Xmas decorations?
I have noticed on Facebook that some people did so on Boxing Day. We usually wait until New Year's Day. But then I read this article suggesting maybe you keep some of them up permanently (read here (http://simplystated.realsimple.com/simplystated/2009/12/use-ornaments-after-the-holidays.html)).

What do you normally do?
Would you use some of your Xmas decorations as everyday ornaments?

As much as I enjoy putting up the Xmas decorations I also enjoy taking them down. Once I have my everyday ornaments all back in their place it's like seeing them in the room for the first time, all over again:)

I always thought it was 12 days after Christmas but maybe that's something I made up years ago and then decided it was real. LOL

I think Boxing Day is too early... takes so long to decorate that I want the tree up a bit longer. Also, we're having a New Years Eve party at our house so I think it's nice to leave the decorations for at least until 1st January.

We used to always see it through the 12 days of Christmas, after all, putting them up is a mammoth job but this year I really felt the need to get organised and so took them down today, the 2nd.
I think perhaps people put them up too early?
