Following on from Elements post and her new Christmas tree just wondering if any of you make Christmas treasures/craft for your home? Every year I make something and so do my kids. 50% of our Christmas tree decorations are what my kids made, whether it be at home or at school/kinder. 50% are shop bought. Everytime we go on a holiday I buy a Christmas decoration to remember it by.
A few years ago I made these - (I think I'll have to re-do the o and l - should have swapped the paper on these two...)

Last November I made two Rag Wreath's for our front doors. I love these -

and these deocrations for the tree. The shells were from Lincraft and I used scrap booking paper which I cut into tiny squares and mod podged on. Very time consuming but worth it -

Last November I also went to a Community House and did a little workshop on how to make my own Bows -

My little merry christmas letters are just from Bunnings and and I painted the sides and back white. The large Noel letters were from Spotlight but that was a few years ago. I just picked up some nice thick white letters the other day from a home wares shop called Veeva, these will be "Peace" and "Joy" but are not for me.

I love your decorations Tryingtodecorate:love it:. I especially love the letters. I might do some myself.
I used to love doing craft projects but don't seem to find the time any more. The angels in these pictures I made years ago. I also made a wreath for the door of all silver decorations glued to the wreath. But that has been replaced with a simple white wreath recently.
Years ago I made crackers for all 24 members of our family. It was a big job but I loved doing it.
Great post TTD- you have inspired me:kiss:.

Lovely Julie-Ann :love it: Are those angels made with beads and safety pins?? If so, I made the same ones for both my girls when they were born. My boys got stars. Fun to make!

Yes that's the ones Tryingtodecorate. I used to belong to a craft group and we made these one Christmas. Do you have a picture of the stars? They sound interesting:)

I love Christmas crafts!!
I always make my gift tags out of card stock and decorate them in my chosen 'colour' for the year. Last year was silver and light blue:

I also made little chinese lanterns and hung them on a branch of pu$$ywillow:

Two years ago I bought 'NOEL' letters (from Provincial Home Living), and stuck paper on them:

...although the paper is hard to see! It's gold/white.
This year my chosen colour is red and white, and I'm about to start making my gift tags..well, in the next few weeks! I've also bought a small wooden tree from a scrapbooking shop, and I'm in the process of painting it white and will do 'something' with it!

I love all your things TTD! I'm going to have to look into the Mod Podge, as I'm following a "Mod Podge Rocks" Blog, and some of the creative things they come up with is amazing!

Love your cards and lanterns Stormy:love it:. I hope your gift receivers appreciate all the love and effort that goes into making those beautiful cards.
If any of you crafty members would like to share some instructions on how to make these Christmas Crafts drop me a Private Message - and we can make it the DIY Project for the week:).
I bought my Noel letters yesterday in Spotlight. I might just paint them silver though as I think that would look lovely on my off white bookcase. Thanks for the inspiration:kiss:.

Omg.................what a great thread I just love all your work. So classy and not tacky (as crafting can sometimes get)....
I also love making Christmas Tags and wrapping gifts with handmade things.....
With the littlies it is not so easy but still rewarding to do just a bit.
Really love those bows.....and the mini chinese lanterns are just adorable...
Bring on the DIY..... and modge podge..have heard all about this wonder too from various blogs. Where can I buy it?

You can buy mod podge in any scrap booking shop, Spotlight (maybe Lincraft) it comes in a matt or gloss finish. I buy a large tub from spotlight and use foam applicators. Easy to use :)
Julie-Ann, I thought of you yesterday as I was in Lincraft and they had letters in there too. Glad you got some, you'll have to show us them finished in Silver. I'll try and find a photo of the Stars.
Loved your Silver and Blue theme last year Stormy. Everything looked great.
I got some great paper yesterday which I am going to to put on a tray. Will post a pic once I'm done.
great thread, I'm going to head down to spotlight tomorrow and get's me some sparkly bits and bobs to play with, will get my boys to make some too, thanks guys :thumbs up:
