When you are home do you keep your garage door open or closed? One of the neighbours up the road always keeps their garage door open when home. I think they are mad. It says to me "Come and rob me of my tools and junk (we keep plenty of junk in our garage)".
Maybe I'm just a little paranoid about security- Never:rolleyes::D.

Do you keep your garage door open or closed when your home?

I wouldn't feel comfortable about leaving the garage door open. It would be like leaving your front door open and I wouldn't like the neighbours to see how untidy my husband is!

Hi Abigail and Julie Ann! We have a big open 3 sides enclosed carport with a pin the tail on the donkey picture and half bag of cement. We don't usually keep anything valuable in there, well, the picture is pretty good! Bbut if we did have a garage door I would keep it shut.

Rofl- I totally understand. My DH is a very neat fellow except in the garage. Nothing is put back where it belongs:mad:. I must admit the fellow up the road who does leave his garage door open has an immaculate garage.

We keep ours down unless Husband is working in the front yard. We don't need another escape route for the crazy two year old!!

It was a good party!! Great for tennis too!The car wasn't there 'cause Pete went to Albury to cook for a Rotary do, and Local Government Association do, Kristina Kineally(Premier lol) was there! the functions are for 900 each night!! Any way that's why the car wasn't there...I was digressing.... There is one particular home in Lakeside drive Lake ALbert. and the junk in the carport for the whole world to see!. I mean the home looks over the lake and it is one of the premier positions in Wagga. Next door to the home the other two are beautifully kept. I mean there is junk and there is clutter and there is mess!. It's a real shame, but then I wonder the people are like that with their stuff. Sometimes things like that are psychological and it's a real shame. I had friends like that in Perth. Beautiful brandnew home, but the junk inside! They had a container in their front yard....It's a mystery. CATH WAGGA

Garage door is always shut.

I was really scared one day when I was reversing into the garage and some people just walked right in to my garage! They were asking for money and water for their baby :(

Hi Rachel...that's a worry! & dragging the poor little baby around with them..some people have no morals, and that 's sad. I would keep my garage door shut too! Our enclosed carport leads to our front door, but there is a fernery entry before the front door...I feel really safe here with those doors, but I still alwsays lock them, and we have two big dogs who bark at a fly walking down the street....CATH WAGGA

Sounds pretty safe Cath!

I agree Julie-Ann. Luckily for me the door between the garage and the house was deadlocked, the alarm was on and I had my monitored alarm/panic button in my hand. I didn't have any cash on me because I'd just come back from a swimming class, but I was able to give them a bottle of water from the downstairs fridge.

I didn't turn my back to them and kept talking and smiling and looking at them and making sure I could identify them if need be. Terrible really, but that's what I did. I asked lots of questions about the baby but they didn't answer and didn't seem interested :(

I half expected them to leave when I said I didn't have any money but they did wait and took the bottle of water with them.
