I have so many photos & I want to keep them all. If I put them into photo albums it is going to take ip too much space. How do other people store decades of photos?

Photo albums do take up space!

If you NEED them as they have sentimental value etc. It might be worth scanning them and saving them digitally as well. This can also save a lot of room but be time consuming. (You can pay to have it done for you).

Photo Boxes are a great idea. You buy the box and place the images inside... no frames/sticking etc. If you sort them into categories you can put tabbed dividers in between.. Just make sure they are acid free boxes intended for photo storage, and that the paper dividers are also acid free. Ideally they should close snugly and be stored away from direct sunlight.

I second Lanne's advice about storing them snuggly... apparently this is safer in case of a fire. Although I scrapbook, I haven't caught up so I have the rest of the photos in boxes and they have dividers between them.

I like the idea of photo boxes!! I already have a MASSIVE photo album full of my baby's photo's and she's only 6 months old!! I think I will get a photo box, and seperate each section by year.... Will be so much better space wise!!

I like the photo box idea as well- great thinking.
I also liked the photo book idea that was mentioned here (http://www.decoratingforum.com.au/showthread.php/decorating-with-photos-84.html?t=84&highlight=photos).
I have started to scan our pictures onto the computer. Not so much because of storage but because I then set up the computer so our photos are the screensaver. I can change the photos that are on show whenever I want. At the moment I am reliving our holiday in Hawaii. You could do the same with a digital photo frame as well.

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions. I have seen a white photo box which will go with the colours in our house. So I have decided to put lots of our holiday photos in that. The rest I will store in boxes similar to what Lanne showed. I found some similar ones at the photo shop. I think I will also look at getting a digital frame so we can see lots of our photos all the time. Thanks again:D
