What do you use to clean your timber floors? And do you have any way to cover up scratches? We have our 1st scratch on our new timber floor.

Hi
To clean my floors I use hot water and a splash of vinegar and then use that to mop the floors. Make sure the mop is only damp not dripping wet.
I manage to cover light scratches with cedar oil (marveer for darker woods).
I put a little cedar oil on a cotton tip and go over the scratch. The hard part is to get it just on the scratch and not on the timber around. If this happens I use a little tissue to wipe that excess away. I guess you could use a tiny paint brush to be more precise. For deeper scratches the cedar oil might help a little but it is a case of having to live with it. We all cry over the 1st scratch but by the 21st you do get over it.

Scratches are just part of the beautiful lived in look a house gets when it's a home. :)
I have a cleaner and she mops our floors with hot water and a splash of Eucalyptus Oil. Makes the house smell so clean and wonderful :) (for about a few hours until the kids get home )

Do you know what it is called? Does it do a good job even if it doesn't smell great?
