What should I add to make my dining area feel more like an outdoor dining area? I don't have a pergola area outside so we eat here when we entertain. With it being summer I would like to make the dining area feel a part of the garden. The dining area has french doors that go out to the garden. How can I do that outdoors inside look?

What type of dining room furniture do you have at the moment?
Do you have any plants in the room?
Is there room for anything other than the dining table and chairs?

Our dining furniture is pine. There isn't room for any furniture but some plants would be ok. At the moment we have a small plant in one corner.

I would suggest more plants, especially some larger ones.
Have you thought about painting the pine? Maybe you could do a limewash over it. And some sort of plant or flowers on the table would be a start.

Hello Suzie, nice to meet you, it sounds like you have a lovely dining area, have you thought of adding a tropical oilcloth tablecloth to you table, which would add colour and also make you feel more outside with the floral. Take a look at some of my Mexican oilcloth fabric, which is totally wipeclean and user friendly.
I hope this may be of some help to you, summer is truely on its way.
