I am always looking for tips about cleaning around the house. Especially ways to clean using less chemicals.
Any tips?

Years ago I worked in the office of a carpet cleaning company. The owner told me that to get out most stains use soda water. The bubbles help to lift the stain. I have found it works on everything except cat urine, but then I have not found anything that works on that.

A few years ago I was introduced to Enjo cleaning mits & cloths. All you need are the various cloths & water. The product works very well but it is quite expensive. I still use these mits but have also found various other brands that do the job just as well.

I also tell all my clients when we install a new bathroom not to use cakes of soap but to use liquid soap instead. It makes a huge difference. Instead of having to clean your shower every week by using liquid soap & regular use of an Enjo type cloth you can leave it for about 2 months. Then when I do need to clean the shower I sprinkle BiCarb Soda and spray white vinegar over it - let it fizz a little & then wipe away. It works well on any soap residue but you may have to use something a little stronger on any mould. Give it a try.

Vinegar is brilliant in the bathroom. I promise, the smell won't linger too long.
I'm also a big advocate of using a squeegee to dry the shower screen and tiles when you hop out, minimises mould growth and will keep your screen cleaner without scrubbing.
I also use enjo and find the cloths last for ages. :)

One of the tweeps on Twitter gave me this link which is full of great chemical free cleaning ideas. Yes they really call people on Twitter tweeps - funny.
