Now this is an exciting product and free (well if you have an Iphone).

"The Dulux MyColour iPhone application (http://itunes.apple.com/au/app/dulux-mycolour/id372280486?mt=8#) lets you snap a picture and instantly match colours to the many hues that comprise the Dulux colour system."
Has your jaw dropped? How amazing is this?

"The Dulux MyColour app is intuitive and easy-to-use. Simply glide a finger across the digital photo taken with the iPhone's built in camera, zoom into a colour, and tap the "match" key. In just seconds, a strip of colours will appear below the photo, with the closest paint match highlighted. A simple shake of the phone and the app will provide up to four coordinating colours that can be used as a colour scheme for your home. Favourites can be saved and enlarged to the size of the iPhone screen for easier viewing. There's access as well to the full spectrum colour wheel, which expands or contracts by fingertip control to focus on a colour preference that too, can be translated into a Dulux colour and saved as a favourite for future reference."

I have downloaded it on to my iphone but haven't had a chance to try it out. So if you download it tell me what you think.:)

In the interests of science I just tried it out. The verdict- it is even better than I thought.
It tells you to take a picture. Then you tap "Use".
It then goes back to the app. And you just move your finger around the picture to get the colours. So if I am pointing at the brown pot I get the matching brown colour and shades of brown close to it.
But if you tap at the top on Harmony instead of Strip it gives you the matching colour and co-ordinating colours.
Then if you point to the plant it gives you the matching green colour.
You get the idea.
The best bit is it seems really quite accurate.
Oh I love a new toy, especially when it is free.

We must thank hbfotografic who showed this to me.:)

Maree are you waiting to get your phone as a present?

I am so upset now I only just got a new phone and thought to my self...I don't like any of those apps things so there is no point getting that one I will get the Nokia (blackberry style) phone.
I will have to steal Hubbys phone now and then for sneaky paint colour getting....I know its not a sentence but its early still;):D

Maybe a permanent swap with you hubby will be required Elements. After all this app is great for an Interior Designer to use. Wait until you see it:)

An Iphone Apps thread sounds like fun Lanne - thanks:)
